For this reason there are also plenty of protected areas in the Puez-Geisler nature reserve that have been neither opened up nor developed. The intention is that the fabulous impressions and interesting information should encourage visitors to think in a more environmentally aware way.

Villnöss "Speck" Festival

Villnöss "Speck" Festival

South Tyroleans love to celebrate as often as they can! You can let this spirit of joie de vivre infect you at the numerous events and festivities and join in with the party spirit. Every autumn, for example, the "Speck" (bacon) festival is held in Villnöss. Alongside culinary delicacies, this three-day folk festival celebrating all things "speck" (Tyrolean bacon) also offers atmospheric folk music and a traditional farmers' market. 

Törggelen (New Wine Festival) in the Eisack Valley

From the beginning of October to mid-November, the wine taverns and country guesthouses devote themselves to celebrating the pleasures of new wine or Törggelen. As part of the celebrations, typical South Tyrolean specialities are prepared and the young wine is tasted. A culinary highlight in South Tyrol!
